SHANGHAI SERVICES

When you arrive in Shanghai to study or intern, there will be a lot of challenges ahead.

In your first week, getting over your jetlag will just be the first hurdle. Every newcomer in Shanghai needs to go through some practical steps too, before they can feel properly settled in the city.

For example, there are certain laws here to do with getting a mobile SIM card and registering your temporary address with the authorities.

Looking back at when we were new arrivals ourselves, we know how valuable it is to have someone to help you with some of these tricky procedures – especially when you’re still learning the language.

With these kits and services we aim to relieve the stress and let you concentrate on what you came here to do – learn, and have fun!

Please note that kits and services must be booked before your arrival in China. It is not possible to add them after your program has started.

SURVIVAL KIT STANDARD

NOTE || The below services will vary from city to city and shop to shop. We cannot guarantee all of the below, but will do our best to assist you.

AIRPORT PICKUP: Our driver will take you from the Airport to your accommodation.

SHARED BIKE RENTAL: We will get you set up so you can explore the city on two wheels.

POLICE REGISTRATION: Assist students to register at local police station.

MOBILE SIM CARD: Pre-charged with 10 GB of data for convenience.

LOCKER ACCESS: Access to your own locker at LTL School to store your valuables.

ALIPAY ASSISTANCE: Help linking your foreign bank card to Alipay (this will depend on your bank card)

TRANSPORTATION CARD: A pre-charged card to get around the city using the subway, bus, and more.

LOCAL MAP: Get to know the city with your very own map courtesy of LTL.

LTL TOTE BAG: Along with the bag, you’ll also receive one LTL pen.

Our private driver will meet you at the Arrivals gate and drive you directly to your accommodation in the city centre

SURVIVAL KIT – How will I meet my driver at the Airport?

Despite the sizeable nature of Shanghai Airport there’s nothing to fear!

When you pass through arrivals there’s a good chance there will be a whole number of Chinese people.

Thankfully your driver will be fully prepared with your name on a sheet of card, he’ll also be aware of what you look like so you’ll be in the car in no time.

SURVIVAL KIT – What should I bring to School with my on my first day?

The only real requirement, bar yourself of course, is your passport. Anything else, you are welcome to bring along such as your laptop, other study materials, snacks or lunch etc.

Remember your study materials are provided by LTL but if you have your own then do feel free to bring them.

CONNECTION KIT – Who are the two people?

We choose both people based on their background, age and interests.

How well you connect with a person always depends on the two of you of course.

Having two people is better than one so hopefully you manage to strike up a bond with them.

CONNECTION KIT – When do I meet my language exchange partner and student ambassador?

We will invite you for a meal together with your language exchange partner and student ambassador at the start of your time in China. You can get to know each other and plan out some future activities.
